
Balod, 9 January 2026 : The first National Rover Ranger Jamboree was inaugurated today in the village of Dudhli, near the district headquarters of Balod, under the chief patronage of Governor Ramen Deka. Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that the Jamboree is not just a camp but a celebration of unity, diversity, brotherhood, and shared objectives.

School Education Minister Gajendra Yadav, National President of the Bharat Scouts and Guides, Dr. Anil Jain, National Chief Commissioner, Dr. K.K. Khandelwal, State Chief Commissioner, Chhattisgarh, Inderjeet Singh Khalsa, national and state level officials, and a large number of Rover-Rangers from various states across the country were present at the event.

Governor Mr. Deka and guests formally inaugurated the event by lighting a lamp and releasing a balloon into the sky. The Governor and guests also released the Jamboree magazine and new badges at the ceremony. Governor Ramen Deka stated on this occasion that Scouts and Guides inspire youth to develop leadership skills, discipline, and progress on the path to success. He urged the youth to contribute at least one positive act to society and play an active role in nation-building. This National Rover-Ranger Jamboree, being held for the first time in the country, is a matter of pride for the entire nation.

School Education Minister Gajendra Yadav, in his address, stated that Scouts and Guides are a powerful medium to connect youth with life values, discipline, and social responsibility. He stated that Rover-Rangers are those youth of the country who have the passion to do something good for society, the nation, and the world. He welcomed and congratulated all the participants, calling the event a fortunate opportunity for the youth of Chhattisgarh and the country.

Delivering his welcome address, Dr. KK Khandelwal, Chief National Commissioner of Bharat Scouts and Guides, described the first National Rover Ranger Jamboree in village Dudhli as historic and extremely important.

State Chief Commissioner Inderjeet Singh Khalsa said that this event marks another significant milestone in Chhattisgarh’s golden era. He expressed his gratitude to all the collaborators.

Rovers and Rangers from various states saluted Governor Deka and guests with an impressive march past. On the occasion of the inauguration of this first National Rover Ranger Jamboree, Rover Rangers from various states showcased the vibrant colors of Indian culture with a colorful presentation of captivating cultural programs.

It is noteworthy that in addition to all the states of the country, participating Rover Rangers from 33 states, including Railways and Navodaya Vidyalayas, are participating in this five-day event. Officials from the Bharat Scouts and Guides, Rover Rangers, other public representatives, and a large number of common citizens were present.
