
New Delhi, 19th August : WAGGGS 15th Asia Pacific Regional Conference was inaugurated at Leela Ambience Convention Hotel in New Delhi on Tuesday. Participants from 23 member organizations of India and other countries are participating in this conference.

The 15th Asia Pacific Regional Conference was inaugurated by The Bharat Scouts and Guides National President Dr. Anil Kumar Jain. During this, The Bharat Scouts and Guides Chief National Commissioner KK Khandelwal, WAGGGS Chief Executive Officer Nadine El Achi and WAGGGS World Board President Candela Gonzalez, BSG Vice President Geeta Nataraj, Asia-Pacific Regional Committee President Chempaka Emalin Pahmin, Membership and Regional Support Head Natalia Plu and BSG Director Darshana Pawaskar were present among others.

WAGGGS 15th Asia Pacific Regional Conference will run till August 23. Hosted by the The Bharat Scouts and Guides, the conference brings together regional and global trainers, decision makers and youth representatives from member organisations who are dedicated to building a better future for girls and young women in the Asia Pacific region.

199 delegates from 23 member organisations are attending the conference in person. These include Girl Guides Australia, Bangladesh Girl Guides Association, Brunei Darussalam Girl Guides Association, Cambodia Girl Guides Association, Fiji Girl Guides Association, Hong Kong Girl Guides Association, The Bharat Scouts and Guides, Japan Girl Scouts, Kiribati Girl Guides Association, Korea Girl Scouts, Malaysia Girl Guides Association, Maldives Girl Guides Association, Mongolia Girl Scouts Association etc.

Participants who attended the conference were welcomed with tika and aarti as per Indian tradition. A lively flag march took place with representatives from 23 member organisations. Vishwa Anthem and BSG prayer filled the hall with unity and enthusiasm. Haryana and Rajasthani folk dances enthralled the audience. On this occasion, Dato Dr. Jusen Byun was honoured for 25 years of dedicated service.
